About Uttoxeter
The town of Uttoxeter, a place of some 12,000 inhabitants, stands in the eastern half of Staffordshire adjacent to the Derbyshire border and close to the confluence of the Rivers Tean and Dove.
It is well away from the industrialised parts of the county and within easy reach of the superb scenery including the beauties of Dovedale and the White Peak on both sides of the county border.
An interesting town to visit and a good centre from which to explore such nearby places of interest as Alton Towers, Croxden Abbey, Sudbury Hall, Trentham Gardens and Tutbury Castle. The town’s heritage centre can provide a wealth of historical and tourist information.
Recreational facilities include the well known racecourse and an 18-hole golf course. Uttoxeter boasts a modern leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre & sports hall.
